Occupy Seattle protestors were at the city’s Terminal 18 port when, according to many witnesses, the cops formed a line with horses and bikes and started hitting the crowd to push us them off of the road. One of the cops took out his canister of pepper spray and started spraying people.

Today MF Global’s former executives, the CFO and the COO, along with Jon Corzine, the former CEO, testified before the senate agriculture committee. They told the committee that they don’t know how an estimated 1.2 billion dollars in customer funds went missing. Unfortunately, all three of them could not offer an explanation,
with both Henri Steenkamp and Bradley Abelow saying that they have no idea where the money is. Jon Corzine, former CEO of Goldman Sachs, danced around the question. If you feel like you’ve heard this before, that’s because you have. You heard it last week when former MF Global CEO Jon Corzine testified on the hill — before the house agriculture committee. Remember, this is the former CEO of Goldman Sachs, the former governor of new jersey and a former united states senator. He was at the helm of MF Global when it disclosed a more than 6 billion dollar bet on European sovereign debt that was part of an entire portfolio that counter parties started to run from in droves as the firm headed towards illiquidity and bankruptcy. How does all this sit with MF Global customers? Well, we speak with one of those customers, Gerald Celente, who was stopped out of his gold futures positions because he was unlucky enough to be a customer with MF Global. He had a segregated account, but apparently, that was no viewed as sacrosanct by Jon Corzine et al. On Nobember 14th, Gerald Celente was on Capital Account with us to break the news that his account had been frozen, and that he couldn’t get his money.

Asteroid-Powered Geminid Meteor Shower Peaks Tonight

One of the year’s best meteor showers has to compete with a nearly full moon, but the show should still be pretty good no matter where you are.

The Geminid meteor shower returns every December, thanks to the Earth’s plowing through debris left by a boiled asteroid. The best time to watch is between 10 p.m. local time Tuesday, Dec. 13 and sunrise on Wednesday, Dec. 14.

Even with a nearly full moon, which put on a stunning lunar eclipse over the weekend, observers should still catch one streak every minute or two. Observers away from city lights with clear skies may see more than 40 streaks of light per hour emanating from the constellation Gemini.

“Our all-sky network of meteor cameras has captured several early Geminid fireballs,” said NASA astronomer Bill Cooke, an expert in meteoroid science, in a press release today. “They were so bright, we could see them despite the moonlight.”

National ufo ExaminerRoger Marsh is a UFO writer, author, playwright and independent filmmaker. He is director of communications for both the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON)…

Pennsylvania witnesses at two locations report watching lights “falling from the sky” on December 11 and 12, 2011, in what appears to be two separate cases, according to testimony from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.

The first report from December 11, 2011, describes a “bright, white sphere-like object” in Case 33983.

“My boyfriend and I were driving home and we were about to turn right onto a road near his home when we both happened to be looking out the front windshield of my car and saw a larger than a star object that was bright white just fall straight down from where it was in the sky,” the reporting witness stated.

The horizon was blocked by trees, but the couple continued driving to their destination and finally parked their vehicle. A second light was then seen.

“I saw a second object that looked the same, but appeared to have a different colored light as well doing the same thing – falling fast – except this one was at more of a diagonal than straight down.”

The couple then report seeing planes and helicopters in the same area.

“Several planes and helicopters entered the sky afterwards; two helicopters side-by-side with bright lights very close overhead. Looked as if they were searching. Very suspicious.”

Then the following night, on December 12, 2011, at 6:30 p.m., viewed from Boyd Street in McKeesport, another witness was parking a car when lights were seen.

“I noticed lights falling from the sky,” the witness stated Read more:http://www.examiner.com/ufo-in-national/pennsylvania-witnesses-report-lights-falling-from-the-sky

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Rep. Jeff Denham, chairman of the Subcommittee on Economic Development, Public Buildings and Emergency Management, held a hearing today to examine the development of the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) Integrated Public Alert and Warning System (IPAWS).

Currently, the United States issues emergency warnings through the Emergency Alert System (EAS), which relays messages through broadcast and other media. EAS allows the President and authorized officials to transmit emergency messages to the public via television and radio. The current system is largely based on 1960s technology and is only able to transmit limited text and audio alerts.

“At the end of the day, we all share a mutual goal – the safety of the public. That is why we introduced legislation to modernize the technology used to alert the public of National Emergencies,” Denham said in a news release.

“Today, we have the Emergency Alert System (EAS); however, the backbone of that system is still largely based on 1960s technology. Last month, after almost 50 years, FEMA conducted the first ever nation-wide test of EAS,” said Chairman Denham. “With the technological capabilities we have today, the public should be able to be alerted quickly to an impending disaster.”

“Last week we saw how important an effective alert system is to saving lives,” Denham continued. “At Virginia Tech, the University’s emergency alert system kept students in place and out of harm’s way in the moments following the tragic shooting. As also demonstrated this year, with devastating tornados, hurricanes and floods around our Nation, improving our alerting capability will help save even more lives.”
