Two North Carolina witnesses in Martin County reported watching a large, silent metallic object that was hovering about 1,000 feet over a nearby field about midnight on July 9, 2012, according to testimony from the Mutual UFONetwork (MUFON) witness reporting database.
The witnesses were at work and had stepped outside when the object was first noticed.
“It was hard to judge the distance, but we don’t think it was very high, maybe 1,000 feet or so and to the best of our ability we judged the size to be somewhere in the neighborhood of 50 to 60 feet in diameter,” the reporting witness stated. “It just hovered there.”
They continued to watch the object for several minutes.
